June 1, 2021 – Nasdaq CSD is introducing a new service – ESIS ID – that offers intermediaries a simple and efficient way of meeting requirements of shareholder identification process which come from the Shareholder Rights Directive II (SRD II).
Communicating in new ISO20022 standard and meeting tight deadlines is considered as new normal after the SRD II go-live. Intermediary’s situation instantly became more complicated if they were not connected to SWIFT. ISO20022 messages through SWIFT FINplus are now being considered as top preference for secure information exchange between the intermediaries and the issuers or their agents to obtain information on the shareholder identity.
Becoming compliant with the SRD II is now easier than ever – if the intermediaries choose Nasdaq ESIS ID, they do not need to develop an IT solution and have their own SWIFT connection to fulfill the SRD II requirements.
