2017

In 2017, we transformed the post-trade environment in the Baltics with the consolidation of the three Baltic CSDs, leveraging the opportunities arising from the Central Securities Depositories Regulation (CSDR). At the same time Nasdaq CSD became the first Central Securities Depository in Europe to gain an operating license in accordance with the CSDR regulation. The consolidation was carried out in the form of a cross-border merger to ensure full transferability of the business and all contractual relations of the Baltic CSDs to Nasdaq CSD.

2020

In 2020, Nasdaq CSD Iceland merged with Nasdaq CSD, creating an even bigger, more efficient and resilient CSD. The final step in the merger took place in August 2020, with the successful technical migration of the Icelandic securities settlement system to the Nasdaq CSD securities settlement platform.
